In America school lets out in June and starts up again in September. So when I was a kid we pretty much had three months to run around in the Florida heat and do whatever we wanted. We didn’t even have to do any homework! We just went outside and played with our friends. The whole summer I’d wear shorts and a t-shirt. None of us even bothered to wear shoes because we were always jumping into someone’s pool or jumping into the lake down the street or the little creek that ran behind my friend’s house. Are you jealous? Do you think we had too much time on our hands? We probably did, but it was great to run out of school on the last day and throw down our books and get down to some serious play time.
